Which Bin Type?

February 21st, 2010 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

Quite frequently, we receive questions via our Live Chat regarding which bin should be hired.  Here is a breakdown to help clarify:

General Waste - typically anything involved with a “general cleanup around the house and section” that is neither liquid nor of a hazardous nature

Cleanfill / Hardfill - suitable if you have any of the following: concrete, soil, sand, clay, rocks, rubble, bricks, sand, asphalt or ceramic tiles

Green Waste - suitable for grass, leaves, tree trimmings, small branches and/or other organic materials

Soil / Dirt - only suitable if you have 100% pure soil / dirt (no turf or contaminants). Please note that no other waste can be mixed in this bin.  Additional charges will apply if other waste is placed in this bin

Need A Bin?

February 4th, 2010 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

If you are looking for a skip bin then hop online to www.bookabin.co.nz. You will find on the website a frequently answered questions (FAQ) page, which is hugely helpful to answer some of the many questions such as:

Will they be able to get up my drive?
Most suppliers will have smaller trucks for tricky locations. Your drive needs to be 3 metres wide for a normal truck with a 9 cubic metre skip bin (standard size). Once ordered you should contact your supplier and discuss the location of the skip bin if you think that access may be difficult.

Do you service business/commercial customers?
You will be able to order a skip bin from the site using a credit card. However we do not offer charge accounts.

Can I get a skip delivered on Sunday?
You can order a skip bin for Sunday delivery using bookabin.co.nz, however the choice of suppliers will be limited. If possible request the skip bin to be delivered on the Friday or Saturday prior.

How much notice do I need to give when ordering my skip?
Most suppliers will be able to deliver a skip bin within 24hrs of ordering, however, we suggest skip bins are booked as far in advance as possible to ensure you are able to get a skip bin that best meets your requirements and price.

Fisher and Paykel Recycling Day - Wellington and Christchurch!

January 28th, 2010 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

E Waste and old refrigeration units are unable to be placed in a skip bin, so the best thing to do with this type of waste is to Recycle it. Fisher and Paykel have introduced a new initiative to help encourage recycling.

Members of the public are invited to drop off old, broken or inefficient appliances which are then broken down and recycled. The first 50 drop offs receive up to $150 off a new Fisher and Paykel Appliance. ANY brand of fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven or microwave will be accepted. There is no cost to drop off appliances.

Near the end of last year the Recycling Day held in Christchurch and Wellington collected 17 tons of appliances that may otherwise have ended up in a landfill.

There will be a further recycling day in Auckland on the 7th of March , so watch this space or go to www.sustainability.govt.nz for upcoming information regarding types of appliances accepted and the location for your event.

If you are in need of a skip bin for other waste visit www.bookabin.co.nz

Clean it Up!!!

December 21st, 2009 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

Illegal and irresponsible dumping of rubbish is ruining New Zealand’s clean green image, and unfortunately it happens more than we know.

Places like Kaipara have seen an increase in rubbish been disposed of in ditches, down banks etc. Kaipara’s Councillor suggests that irresponsible dumping has increased due to the recession; which is unfortunate as it uses a lot of the rate payer’s money to clean up.

So if you want to get rid of you rubbish responsibly, log onto www.bookabin.co.nz for the best skip bin hire prices in New Zealand. We have suppliers located all over the country, and on bookabin you can choose from 4 waste types and bin sizes ranging from 2m³ to 30m³

Merry Christmas!!

Bin’s & BBQ’s

December 10th, 2009 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

What do these two have in common?  Nothing really.  Oh I guess they do both start with the letter ‘B’, have four letters and end in the letter ’s’.  So why you ask have I decided to talk about the two?  Well, quite simply, with summer now here, what better thing to do after spending the day filling up a skip bin, then to have a wonderful bbq?  If you think about it ahead of time, you could invite your friends and family over early in they day to help you out filling up the bin, then enjoy the afternoon/evening together sharing a great bbq’d meal.  Sounds good to me.  Truly a win-win situation.  So get those steaks marinating, book a bin online for delivery and send out a blast txt inviting everyone over for the fun!

C’mon Sun!

December 3rd, 2009 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

Wonderful summer weather isn’t it! Gail force winds and rain = sitting inside staring out the window miserably. Instead, how about you give your house the once over. There might be an attic or basement that you have been meaning to clean out forever. When would be better than now? You can get it all done before the family comes over for Christmas and before you go away for New Years. If at the end of it, you have so much rubbish to throw away, then you may require a skip bin. Go to www.bookabin.co.nz to find out more details. On the bookabin website you can get a quote for the best priced bin that meets YOUR requirements.
