What’s Happened To Waitangi Day?

February 2nd, 2011 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

No sleep in or lazy day off this year people. Waitangi Day is on Sunday February 6th.

Those of you who were hoping to get into clean up mode this weekend will need to book your bin today (Thursday) so not to be disappointed. If you have left it until now, it’s not toooo late but do try tomorrow as well as Saturday as a drop off date to compare prices.

It is a high demand time, especially with the weather improving, so you may want to get to the beach this weekend and save the big clean up for next weekend – booking your bin ahead of time will secure you a better price as the cheapest stock books out first.

Happy New Year!!!

January 13th, 2010 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

January 2010… another Christmas and New Year have rolled around again, it all seems to come upon us in a rush and before we know it, the holidays are over and its back into that same old daily grind!

What better way to start a new year than to de-clutter your house?

Start off the New Year as you mean to go on, by booking a bin online at www.bookabin.co.nz

Once you have the bin onsite it is amazing how motivated you will get, throwing away stuff you no longer use or require.

A general waste bin is what you will need for most of the clutter around your home. You can also dispose of any green waste also in a General bin but please No heavy waste (bricks, dirt or concrete).

Tip: Get a timer and set it for 20 minutes as you move through rooms – it is amazing how much you can accomplish in 20 minutes.

New Year - New You!

Labour Day!

October 15th, 2008 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

Monday October 27th 2008 (It has been four months since the last public holiday!)

What is it? - A day to recognize the contribution to society of all the working people. In 1840 a carpenter named Samuel Parnell refused to work for more than 8 hours a day. He believed a person should work 8 hours have 8 hours for sleep and 8 hours of recreation. Many people agreed with him, so 50 years later on 28 October 1890 Samuel lead a parade through the streets to celebrate the first Labour Day in NZ. This day became law in 1899 and we still celebrate it today on the forth Monday each October.

What shall we do? - Most of us celebrate the start of warmer weather and attend events around the country. Auckland has Tradies Day at Ellerslie Race Course; Taihape holds its annual Gumboot Day; Herons Flight Vineyard in Matakana hosts Sundown; and Fat Freddies Drop performs at The Civic in Christchurch.

It is the “unofficial” start of Summer!

If you are not travelling away and have decided to get started cleaning up around the house so its looking good for BBQ season, get in quick to book your skip bin. We have suppliers nationwide with a variety of skip sizes and waste types. Remember the early bird catches the first worm!

Enter your postcode at www.bookabin.co.nz and take a look at our low bin hire rates!
