Bookabin will then calculate and present you with a price matching your requirements. If you like the price you can book and pay online.

2) What waste type do I need? - If you have general light waste you will need a general waste bin – green garden waste can be disposed of in a general waste bin as well. Rubbish at Work!

April 7th, 2010 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

Bookabin provides a way for home owners to hire a skip bin for a short period of time. It can also be used by businesses who would rather not sign a longer term contract with a skip company, and just order a bin when they need it.

If you are a business and you want to remove waste, think first and foremost about recycling what you can before dumping the rest in a skip. Check out the Renew Waste Exchange to give you an idea of how to get rid of some of that junk in a positive way, visit http://www.renew.org.nz/. Renew Waste Exchange is a business to business transfer of unwanted materials, you can specify what you have available and produce a listing for others who may be looking for it. You can also search for materials that you may require.

Once you have recycled as much as you can, order your bin efficiently through the bookabin site, just enter your postcode to get a quote matching the requirements you have.

Introduction of the Waste Minimisation Levy

July 23rd, 2009 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

Last year the Government passed a new legislation governing waste disposal activities. The Waste Minimisation Act 2008 imposes a $10.00 plus GST levy on every ton of refuse disposed into a landfill. This legislation came into effect on July 1st this year.

The purpose of the levy as outline in the act is to:

  • Raise revenue for promoting and achieving waste minimisation
  • Increase the cost of waste disposal to recognize that it imposes a cost on the environment, society and economy

(If you wish to find out more about the levy visit www.mfe.govt.nz)

Once this levy is actioned you may find that some suppliers will increase their prices slightly, to absorb this cost. One way to reduce the costs related to waste disposal is to increase your recycling. Take a good look at the waste you have to dispose of and work out which parts can be reused, you may be surprised at the many options available.

Once you decide on the waste that cannot be recycled, take a look at the skip bin prices available at www.bookabin.co.nz.

Using a variety of your local suppliers the site will calculate your requirements to present you with the best price for a skip that matches what you need, when you need it.

What Are The Dimensions Of The Bin?

April 16th, 2009 by The BookaBin New Zealand Bin Hire Team

This is a question that is regularly asked by customers before they book their skip bin. Usually customers are looking to see that the skip bin will fit down their driveway or into a specific space on their section.

To have an average sized skip (a 9 meter) delivered onto your section you will need a driveway that is at least 3 meters wide, if the skip bin is larger, the access space will also need to be wider.

The size of the skip bin could vary from 2 meters all the way up to 30 meters depending on the waste they have to dispose of.

www.bookabin.co.nz works as an agent for a large variety of skip suppliers across New Zealand to ensure that customers are serviced by a local supplier.

Sometimes the supplier’s stock varies in how it look’s, meaning the shape of a bin might be different from what is imagined. On the website, images are indicative of volume only; actual dimensions may vary depending on the skip supplier that is servicing the order. This means that the image will give the customer an idea of how much waste will fit into the bin. When the bin arrives, the shape may look different, it may have shorter sides and a larger base or visa versa, but it will hold the same volume.

Walk In, Trailer Bin, Opening Doors, Closing Lid….these are some of the features that are often required for certain waste disposal. Once a bin is booked through www.bookabin.co.nz it is recommended that customers contact their skip bin supplier directly to find out more about these features as not all bin’s supplied will have these features.

Keep in mind the cheapest bins will book out first so get in fast to get the best deal on skip hire, visit www.bookabin.co.nz now!!
